First beach day of the year!

Today it was finally warm enough to hit the beach! I was so excited to go! We loaded up in the car and went and stayed all day until about 6:00 in the evening. On the way home we got ice-cream like we always do. It was a fun day but it was super-windy. The pool I kept trying to blow up was flying away with me attached! We had a great time, the waves were so rough. I wish we had brought the boogie board but we didn't ride in our truck, we rode with Aunt and she didn't have room. It was a pretty good day.

Time for the fair! I wait for this all year long, I just love the fair! This year I was allowed to take one of my friends, we had such a blast. I rode a lot of great rides and one really scary ride my mom dared me to ride. I was super-scared and mom got a great picture. She also got some really funny pictures of us being spongebob and patric and some other crazy characters. But something happened during the transfer and the pictures are gone. Boo, they were really funny.

This is the kiddie coaster, my mom dared us go on it with the babies. I was hoping we wouldn't run into anybody we knew!

Ahhh, the swings. I love the swings!

Er, on second thought, I'm getting off. I just saw puke on the ground, ugh. Gross.

One of the many fun houses we went into, I love fun houses!

havin' some fun at Mellow Mushroom for lunch before the fair

Spring is here, time for the park!

Spring has officially arrived and with it's arrival has come the most beautiful weather so we have been spending a lot of time at the park. On this day we went to van zandt park and walked all the nature trails before we played on the playground. There weren't many kids there but I did make friends with a girl and we played hide-n-seek together. I wasn't aware mom was taking pictures of me. She says she has to do it on the sly or else I pose. Well duh, I want to look my best! I love going to the park. I always look forward to Wednesdays when we go to clark park with Sarah, William, and Grace. On the other days we go to the parks closer to our house. At the park near our house there is an awesome frolf course so mom said I could learn to frolf, I can't wait to do that!

Finished my first sewing project!

I have finished my first sewing project. It is a skirt and it is really cool. I made it out of pink and brown fabric, it is kind of see-through but mom said we can make a slip to go under it, maybe we can even make it out of netting so the skirt puffs out. That would be cool. Mom is going to have to help me adjust it because it is a bit big on me. I put in the zipper and made the waistband and did everything totally on my own. For my next project I will be making envelope pillowcases with buttons, I can't wait to learn how to do buttons and button holes. Moms machine makes it kind of easy because it has feet for buttons and button holes. My mom took these pictures while I was doing my sewing homework, I had to have the skirt front and back sewn together and the skirt hemmed so we could do the zippers and waistbands in class that day.

Scotland in Clay County?

We went to the Scottish games again this year and had more fun! We saw this English policeman walking around, he was really from England! So were the ladies with him so Mom made me get a picture with them. I told her just to let Skye but someone had to hold her so I had to get in the picture too. Gee. Thrilling. The rest of the day was good though, I got to pet some animals in the petting zoo and throw a sheep (not a real one!) The bagpipes hurt my ears but mom says they are beautiful and she loves the music. I loved the birds of prey, the falcons and eagles were soooo cool! We got to see Evan, Jason, Nicole, Grandma Kelly, Nan, and Pop there too. I wish Daddy could have gone, he likes doing that kind of stuff with us. It was neat.

Wishing for summer....

I love going to my Grandaddy's house anytime but I have to admit that summer is my FAVORITE time to be there. He lives on this cool lake and he has a ski boat, a fishing boat, and a kayak. Well, the kayak is Uncle Clint's but since I am really good at it they let me take it out all by myself. I love my Grandaddy's jeep, I want one when I turn 16. Mom and Dad say if I keep my grades up and I am a good girl then we'll see about getting a used one....mabye. I am doing some flips over the bar waiting for Grandaddy to come take me for a ride, I love going through the mud at the edge of the dried-up lakes! I also like going down the dirt road to Pinheads farm, I don't know his real name, Grandaddy just always calls him pinhead. I imagine he has a sister named eraser butt! He has cows, I love the cows because they are soft.
We sleep on air mattresses at Grandaddy's house. I usually share one with Lyssa and Logan but they beat me up in my sleep! This air bed had a hole in it so I pretty much woke up on the floor! I don't care though, I am always happy to wake up at Grandaddy's!

Lyssa and I used to have to take out the old fishing boat before Uncle got his kayak. The kayak is much easier to use! Grandaddy and Aunt had to come point us toward shore, we couldnt' make the boat turn!

We have many bikes, trikes, and even a 4-wheeler at Grandaddy's house! The sun is setting in this picture, that is why I am all orange! I was waiting for Loge to get done with the 4-wheeler so I could use it. I want to drive it fast but Grandaddy but a thingy on it that limits the speed. His driveway is long and dirty and it is so much fun to ride down. I always get filthy but that doesn't matter because all I have to do is go jump in the lake! My mom says it is relaxing for everyone at the lake because the only rules are to stay safe. I can pretty much do what I want and there is no bedtime. I am always worn out at the end of the day and Grandaddy always makes a fire down by the lake and we listen to odd music by this Zappa guy and make s'mores. I can't wait for summer!

This is the view from the house as the sun sets over the lake. I can't wait!!

My Sweet Valentine

For Valentines Day my girl scout troop went to one of the local retirement homes. We sang songs, danced with some of the residents, handed out cupcakes and cookies, and sat down and talked with the senior citizens. I was a little nervous and scared, some of the people were a little scary to me but they were all nice and I wasn't nervous after a few minutes. It felt good to make people smile. My mom told me that they really love to have children visit them because so many of them don't ever get to see their grandkids. Plus children remind them of being young. I am still shy around the older people but I am not scared of them anymore.
